Very Heavy Wall (VHS) Extruded Outlets
Where very high pressures dictate very high joint efficiency, Sivco VHS extruded outlets are specified.
Sivco has the capability of extruding outlets through wall sections up to 4" thick.
VHS extrusions are made by hot forming, using infra-red and surface temperature controls.
After extruding, the header is heat treated to obtain specified strength levels.
Metallurgical physical tests are run to insure that the header meets or exceeds customer specifications.
Sivco's proprietary technique for extruding multi-outlet manifolds assures a cost effective, high quality product
for the chemical processing industry.
These extrusions are made cold or hot. Sivco's quality assurance program requires 100% liquid penetrant examination
inside and out of all Sivco extruded outlets. Single set-up machining of outlets assures uniform face to face,
center to center, and outlet height dimension.
Extrusions are preferred because....
Cross section transition is uniform
No welding, other tan the butt weld
Butt weld can easily be radiographed
Design flexibility allows placement of outlets where you want them
More economical.does away with tees and expensive girth welds
Resistant to notch-sensitivity and fatigue failures
Sivco can extrude any wrought metal, and wall thickness through 4" thick. Sivco can extrude
outlets in diameters from 3/4" through 60", including size-on-size outlets.
Sivco's engineering department will design extruded headers, vessels, and reinforcing pads from
customers' data, or applicable codes.
