Hi-Temperature Thermowell
Sivco Hi-Temp thermowells are especially designed for ethylene pyrolysis furnaces, by creating a two piece thermowell, furnished as complete integral unit consisting of a thermowell housing and a thermowell stem assembly. The thermowell housing is welded to a furnace fitting or a furnace tube and extends outside of the furnace. The Thermowell Stem seat forms a metal to metal seal near the welded furnace connection which is tightened and held from outside the furnace. The Thermowell stem can be removed for inspection and/or replacement while the furnace is still hot.
Tip replacement is easy and inexpensive. Return the thermowell stem to Sivco and a new tip will be welded to the existing stem.
The coking process, which makes thermowell removal difficult, is minimized with the taper-seat thermowells, since the preasure seal is close to the coking source. Sivco taper seat thermowell are easily removed in the toughest service, requiring no cutting of welds or any reweld for instalation
Sivco Thermowell Tips are made from RA-333 and cast Alloy #6 (UNS R30006) for high hot strength, and resistance to carburization. These materials "case harden" in carburizing service. Sivco Thermowell Housings and stem assemblies ar made from RA-330 or Inco-800HT material.
All Thermowells are "gun drilled" to assure straightness and accuracy.
